I wasn’t even planning on reading this for the exact same reason of why I love the series now that I have read it (AKA I’m emotionally attached and I probably need help). Jordan gave me these two books for my birthday, and looking at the covers, I knew I was going to go on an emotional rollercoaster. I just wasn’t expecting what I read. I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS SERIES. There. It’s official. I’m constantly thinking about the characters and praying that May 2017 comes faster (less for summer and more for the third book coming out!) (But also for summer because come on, more time to read). Anyway… Feyre is so bada** from beginning to end, yet the development of her character and her relationships are what makes this series so amazing. Also, Tamlin, Lucien, Rhysand, and all the other characters have so much depth and history that all ties together (I’m being really vague so I don’t spoil anything). For the first time, at any given part of the book I felt exactly the same as Feyre (the protagonist), so I transformed alongside her, which is, I think, a really important aspect that every novel should have. That connection really ties the reader into the plot along with the emotional strings attached to it. ~The ending of ACOMAF!~ That’s all I can say without spoiling anything. I’m nearly bursting at the seams just thinking about it. There. Make of it what you want. The imagery and description Maas wrote were breathtaking and so unique. Each place had its own personal stamp on it, I felt like I really was visiting each court. Overall it is one of my favorite series of all time. I wouldn’t describe it as emotionally damaging and possibly life threatening (like the end of Allegiant), but more like emotional stirring or an emotional hurricane, or just your heart beating really fast or being out of breath (and not because you just ran up a flight of stairs), some moment where you get all caught up and I want to cry and laugh and smile and scream all at the same time. I want to rant on an on, and I could, about this series, but I’ll just sum it up: READ IT OR YOU WILL REGRET IT.
