Overall Rating: ***** (A BILLION/5)

Amazon Rating: **** (4.5/5)

One Sentence Review: An absolutely beautiful finale that definitely brought with it a sERIOUS case of the feels, I couldn't have been more impressed by The Midnight Star, making it my favorite book of the year.

Amazon Summary:

Adelina Amouteru is done suffering. She’s turned her back on those who have betrayed her and achieved the ultimate revenge: victory. Her reign as the White Wolf has been a triumphant one, but with each conquest her cruelty only grows. The darkness within her has begun to spiral out of control, threatening to destroy all she's gained.

When a new danger appears, Adelina’s forced to revisit old wounds, putting not only herself at risk, but every Elite. In order to preserve her empire, Adelina and her Roses must join the Daggers on a perilous quest— though this uneasy alliance may prove to be the real danger.

Full Review:

*deep breath* *sighs* Probably my favorite book of 2016 if I’m being perfectly honest. This finale by Marie Lu was absolutely stunning, beautiful… basically every positive adjective in the book. I loved every single page so, so much; my heart was broken over and over again; I sobbed and sobbed at the ending (which rarely RARELY happens)... This book was a masterpiece in every sense of the word.

The characters continued development hurt my heart (because of that ENDING) but also made it so happy. I fell even more in love with Adelina, Violetta, Raffaele, and, unexpectedly, Teren. He was a character I didn’t care much for (understatement of the century right there) in the first two books, but I found myself loving him as much as I did most of the others in this final installment.

I had to give Magiano his own separate little sentence because he, of course, was my favorite. I’m not going to say anything about him because I’ll end up unintentionally spoiling something, but gosh I just loved him beyond words and I cried for him countless times.

Overall, I just have to stop now because there really is no way to describe the utter perfection that is the Midnight Star. I loved it so ridiculously much, and I’m so, so sad this fantastic series has come to an end. Make sure to come back next Wednesday for a new review!

Xoxo,

Jordan
