Full Review:

In this unique YA anthology, thirteen acclaimed, bestselling authors team up with thirteen influential BookTubers to reimagine fairy tales from the oft-misunderstood villains' points of view.

These fractured, unconventional spins on classics like "Medusa," Sherlock Holmes, and "Jack and the Beanstalk" provide a behind-the-curtain look at villains' acts of vengeance, defiance, and rage--and the pain, heartbreak, and sorrow that spurned them on. No fairy tale will ever seem quite the same again! (Summary from Goodreads)

This book is my newest obsession. I loved everything about it, from every single story to all the characters to the hilarious commentary by the booktubers. If you haven’t read this book yet you need to, ok?

It’s hard to go into depth about characters and plot and whatnot simply because there are 13 different stories that were each under 50 pages, BUT I’ll tell you this: as the synopsis says, this book will have you questioning a whole lot of the villains you thought you knew. Getting the backstory to some of our oldest most widely known villains like Medusa, the giant from Jack & the Beanstalk, and Moriarty was so cool. And the little commentary sections by the booktubers that came after each story had me legitimately laughing out loud at multiple instances. .

Overall, in my opinion this anthology represents the absolute best YA has to offer: stunning writing and characters, stories that will have you questioning everything you’ve ever known, and a fun and welcoming community of readers unlike any other.

Make sure to come back next Wednesday for a new review!

Xoxo,

Jordan
